History

JEB Entertainment was founded in 1994, one year after the launched of the J. League, first professional football league in Japan. We are one of the first sports agencies in Japan in representation of football players.

Our agency started when Nobuaki Tanabe met Tsuyoshi Kitazawa, ex-national team player who played for Tokyo Verdy at that time. The top players were spending difficult time managing playing football and dealing activities outside the pitch (media activities, endorsements and sponsorships promotion etc.). We have founded this agency as we wished the players to concentrate on football by us working on arrangements outside the pitch and contract negotiation.

Player representation in Japan was not established when our company was founded. Nobuaki Tanabe became FIFA players’ agent in 1999 followed by the Japanese football association adopting the FIFA agent rules. In 2000, Junichi Inamoto became our first client and we started representation of players which now counts more than 60.

After the reform of FIFA agent rules in 2003 (exam/licensed system), Keiko Nishina and Nobuyuki Ikki became the players’ agents licensed by the Football Association of Japan under FIFA governance.

In 2015, FIFA adopted intermediary rules which enables anyone to represent players/clubs by only registration and abolished the exam of rules pertaining to players’ contracts, transfers internationally and domestically. In the environment surrounding players and clubs changing dramatically, we will keep on supporting our players and increase the value of them as their best partner with our experience and strong relationships built with the clubs in order for the players to build up their best career.
